Susan, I was very saddened to hear about John's passing. Your husband was so full of the joy of the Holy Spirit, and always willing to share his love of Christ with everyone. He always had a little something extra for my little girl Lizzie when we stopped by the shop, and was also an encouragement to me as a pastor, even though you too worshiped elsewhere. My prayers will be with you as you begin this journey of grieving and life without him on this side of eternity. I pray that the One whom you and John loved so well will be the God of All Comfort to you now.

Susan and jean,
Your store was the place I'd go to every day for high school lunch in my early years. When I was 14 you two decided to hire me for the summer. It was my first ever time working in costumer service and I was young and nervous. You guys taught me a lot and what I have now brought on to my career. I had the pleasure working with jean , hearing many stories and all of his tips and tricks of being a good worker. I know he truly cared about me and everyone who came in to the store. I wish I took the time to visit again but I'm far away from home now.
I came to dresden for family weekend and heard the news of jean. It brought tears to my eyes and they wondered why .. .
All I said back was "Emily your cute when your sleepin"
That is what he said to me to make me laugh every time I'd mess up or got frustrated at work.
Rest easy jean you are safe in God's hands.

Sue and family, we are truly sorry for your loss. We send our love, prayers and thoughts to you all. Jean was and is a wonderful man, to be able to sit and talk to him was like a breath of fresh air when you were going through hard times. When times were great, he'd celebrate with you and praise to the lord. But the greatest thing ever is he loved on our daughter as if she were his own. Thank you Jean for loving us all. With a sadden heart you will be missed greatly.
