Obituary of Douglas Anderson
Anderson; Douglas a resident of RR3 Kent Bridge passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Born 91 years ago on May 21, 1928, son of the late Arthur & Ethel (Duddy) Anderson. Beloved husband of 62 years to Shirley Anderson (Barnes). Loving father to Gary & Sandy (Bull) Anderson, Brian & Marie (Do Forno) Anderson. Forever missed by his grandchildren Craig & Katie, Corey & Heather, Ryan & Randi, Michael, and great-granddaughters Evelyn and Ava. Survived by siblings Miriam Secord (the late Bill), Larry & Glenda Anderson, sister-in-law Joan Anderson, Ruth & Hans Eberhand, Joan Carr (the late Ralph), Wayne Barnes, and Lee Barnes. Predeceased by siblings Bill & Ruth Anderson , Kay & Gordon Brisley, Gordon Anderson, Dorothy & Raymond Berry, brother-in-law Ken Barnes, and in-laws Garnet & Buelah Barnes. Doug lived and farmed at RR3 Kent Bridge all his life. He enjoyed farming, classic cars, golfing, many winters in Florida, friends and family. He was a life member of St. John's Botany Church, former member of the Ridgetown Golf Club, Past President and Director of the Howard Mutual Insurance Board, 50 year member of the Tecumseh Sydenham Lodge No. 245, and member of the Kent Historic Auto Club. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria Street, Thamesville on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Tecumseh Sydenham Lodge Service will take place at 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Botany Cemetery.
