Obituary of Sandra Irene Price
Price: Sandra (Bilton): We lost a special person after a short yet courageous battle with cancer on February 6, 2014. She was lovingly cared for by her husband and best friend of 60 years, Tom Price Sr. of Chatham formerly of Florence. Loved dearly by her children Lori (John) Couture and Tom Price Jr. both of Chatham. Adored by her granddaughters, Christina Couture (Gabe VanRaay) of Chatham, Danielle Couture of Windsor and Jaclyn Couture of London. Sandra was a devoted stay-at-home mother until 1974 when she began her career at St Joseph's Hospital retiring in 1995. She was a successful competitive golfer and enjoyed playing at all of the courses of Essex-Kent. Her latest accomplishment was winning the 2013 Senior Ladies Club Championship at Blenheim Golf Club, after being diagnosed with cancer. She also played shuffleboard in Chatham and competed regularly in shuffleboard tournaments at their winter home in Florida with much success. She is predeceased by her parents, Jack & Glenna (Brooks) Bilton. Survived by siblings, Ron (Colleen) Bilton of Florence, Audrey Gryp of Windsor and Brenda (Don) Ellis of Dresden. In-laws, Jim (Marj) Price of Thamesville, Ruth Mater (Bill Leeson) of Florence and Terry (Andrea) Price of Tilbury. Several nieces and nephews and many friends at the Blenheim Golf Club and GAO. At Sandra's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In keeping with her wishes, we are planning a celebration of her life. Donations can be made to the CKHA Foundation or the London Regional Cancer Clinic in her memory. The family would like to thank Nurse Practioner Shelley and nurses Lori, Dawn, Lory and Sara of ICU for their compassionate care and guidance throughout her stay. She will be forever in our hearts. Arrangements are entrusted to John C. Badder Funeral Home, Thamesville. www.badderfuneralhome.com.
