Dear Helen and Dwayne. I just found this notice and am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I have warm memories of him coming to camp and visiting us all, his smile and his sense of humor and warmth. Its hard to see our parents go no matter how old they are when they go. They are such a huge part of our lives and such a constant. Even though we are happy for them that they are now free from the constraints of these mortal bodies and are now at peace we are sad and miss their love and their presence in our lives. Dwayne just the other day I remembered your comment and feelings when your first birthday came after your mom had gone at how strange and sad it was that you didn't have that familiar tradition of getting a birthday present from her. Now I too know how that feels . My dear precious mom passed Sept. 25, 2017 and I miss her every day and always will. Our parents were such a constant a part of our lives and a big hole is left at their passing. Again..my deepest sympathies. Big Hugs for you both. Laurie-Anne

When they were boys, cousins Ron Babcock and Lyle Babcock (my father) would each spend a week at the other's home during the summer. Uncle Harold and Aunt Eva's farm was near Tupperville (as I recall the story) and the boys were under strict orders from both of their mothers to never swim in the river. But on hot summer days, the temptation was too much for them, and off they would sneak for a swim. But Ron's hair was curly and the curls would tighten after a dip in the Sydenham. Thus, the boys' sins were often revealed to Aunt Eva. "Let me feel your hair. Have you been swimming in the River?" I do not know what the consequences were, but it is a story I've heard occasionally throughout my life and it's a delight to recall.

Hi Dwayne ,Kevin ,Owen and Families please accept my condolences on the passing of your Dad.Your Father was a wonderful man as a kid I always enjoyed my trips to the mill with my Dad and to visit with your Dad. I also remember how your dad liked to pass us on the way to church and he have a Big Smile on his face when we pulled up. The times when we would visit your home was great also Your mom was a Great cook also and your Dad would always suggest a late night bite to eat it was wonderful.And then there was the morning I was racing for my plane for a trip to Alberta I think I was the last to board the Plane and who did I get to sit with Your Dad it was a Great Flight. No matter how long we have our parents it never seems long enough Your Dad will be greatly Missed .May Dad Rejoice with Your Mom and May God comfort each of You in this time of saying goodbye. To all of Ron’s family near and far, we are so sorry for the loss of your dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend. We could ALWAYS count on Ron’s smile and cute chuckle every time we met. I can hear him right now saying “well hello Janny!” like he was always surprised and pleased to see me. Honestly, it warmed my heart every time.
