Obituary of Clara Isabel Corlett
Corlett, Clara Isabel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham at the age of 97. Born in Orford Township, daughter of the late Elmer and May (Bedford) Shepley. Beloved wife of the late Manson Ivan Corlett (1964). Loving mother to Ken Corlett, Al & Elizabeth Corlett, Sharon & Marshall Lauwers. Forever missed by her grandchildren, John Corlett (Marise), Kristen Corlett (Steve Presant), Lisa Corlett, Erin Corlett (Kevin Rice), Jessica VanMinnen (Doug), Ben Lauwers (Trisha), Nick Lauwers, and by her great-grandchildren, Hannah Corlett, Natalie Lauwers, Blake Lauwers, and Reid Lauwers. Survived by brother-in-law Fred Simpson. Predeceased by her siblings Ruth Lindley (Bill), Bernice Simpson, and Burt Shepley (Marion). Clara had an artistic touch, creating quilts and afghan blankets for her family through her enjoyment of sewing, knitting, quilting, and tatting.
The Corlett family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the John C. Badder Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, those wishing to attend the visitation must sign up for a scheduled time at https://signup.com/go/JZCXyoT. No one will be permitted without a scheduled time. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone attending must wear a mask. Interment to follow at Mayhew Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
