Condolences on Harry's passing. I had short visit a couple of years ago when I was traveling thru the area and recognized the barn and house. I knocked on the back door and asked if Harry was still living in the area. The lady who answered the door ushered me in and there was Harry. When I was about 60 years younger my Grandparents (Norman & Margaret Welch from Wallacetown) had brought my brother David and I up for a visit. Harry had worked for my Grandfather helping to run the farm as a young lad probably in the late 1930's as I recall Harry telling me. Harry would often come down to the Wallacetown Fair, so we would see him thru the years in the 1960's. Always with a hearty laugh Harry would tease us and ask about our activities. I was blessed to have my recent visit and have Harry recall stories about his times with Gramp and Gram and our parents.
I'm sure Harry touched many lives and created many memories for those whose path he crossed.

Condolences to Jim, Wynonna and family. My fondest memory is of Harry teaching me hoe to milk a cow...even the cats got a taste! He tried to send me home with a kitten, but sadly I had to bring it back. Harry was our oldest remaining veteran of Branch 367 Royal Canadian Legion. He will be missed

When I think of Remembrance Day I think of Harry - and always will. I cannot even imagine the many horrors that he must have endured during the war. Like most veterans he would not wish to be reminded of those days, stories were not told, it is a burden carried silently and with dignity. I am infinitely grateful for his service and recognize that he and those that he served with gave us many freedoms that we often take for granted.

Harry was a true hero when it came to his war years and he amazed me every year in Nov and his participation in the Thamesville Cenotaph, a job well done Harry. Also worked hard at his farming and his love for the land.

Harry was a wonderful neighbour and friend. Even after we moved away, we loved our visits with Harry! For years a trip to Erieau for a perch dinner with Harry was a favourite tradition. Our girls loved to visit the barn and explore the tractors in the shed; so many wonderful memories!
