It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Aileen, eldest child of the late Harold and Grace (Patterson) Elliott of Toronto (later Grimsby, ON), and sister of Robert Elliott (Margaret) and late TE(Ted) Elliott (Kathie).

Marg was a passionate, undaunted people-person, who always remained true to herself, who was driven by a lust for learning and connection, and propelled by her keen intelligence and curiosity. Her resilience, sense of humour and ever-positive outlook drove her always forward, even during the years of her increasing dementia, pandemic isolations and decline.

A proud Registered Nurse (Hamilton General Hospital, 1957), she thrived in her respected and extensive social work career at Family and Children's Services in Niagara, and active retirement years, initially spent travelling to home parties selling Weekender women's wear. She will be remembered as a trusted friend, a loving, generous and hands-on mother and creative individual, an accomplished artist and seamstress, pianist, knitter, home canner and rug hooker who loved dogs, entertaining, camping and travel; an indoor and outdoor gardener, who loved reading, playing cribbage, billiards and croquet. She was proud of her career and family, and her many accomplishments including receiving her driver's licence at 15 to drive the fruit to Toronto from her family's farm, and hiking the Bruce Trail, end to end.

Margaret is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Laura (late David Clements), Karen (Timothy Hunt) and Elaine Hunter, whom she raised with their father, Ronald Massey (Margaret Adshead); and by her grandchildren, Brennan and Naomi, and long-time family friend, Bob Hansen.

Known as Maggie in her retirement years with cherished companions, husband Ed Moritz, and later partners, Frank Daniels ( 2014) and Neil Schenk ( 2022); she resided in several communities in Ontario and USA, enjoying live music and the Arts and especially her beloved lakeside property near Bliss, NY.

Cremation will take place, with a private interment in Dresden Cemetery at a later date.
