Upon hearing of Jean's passing, I reflected on the very positive impact she had on my life. As my Sunday School teacher at French's United, in my young teen years, Jean was the catalyst to a life of faith. She took us to see special services in town and even to a screening of "The Cross and the Switchblade," an avant-garde Christian movie! Most importantly for me personally, she encouraged me to attend a youth retreat at the Five Oaks retreat centre, a four-day experience that changed the direction of my life. I currently volunteer with Five Oaks. I was happy to have the opportunity to call Jean a couple of years ago and let her know of the impact she had on my life. We had a good chat. I know Jean blessed many lives, just as she blessed mine. Doug Blackburn
