Obituary of Helen Marie McGaffey

McGaffey: Helen (Gerow) (nee Shepley), a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Bluewater Health C.E.E. Site, Petrolia on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the age of 86. Born in Biggar, Saskatchewan, daughter of the Late Alvin and Clara (Makey) Shepley and her late step-mother Alvera (Brown) Shepley. Predeceased by her 1st husband Glen Gerow (1962) and her late husband Allen McGaffey (2021). Loving mother of Murna Myers (Ken), Glenda Gerow, Norine Nantais (Fred), Aron McGaffey (Jackie), Lana Charron (Rick). Cherished grandma of Nicole Neely (Andrew), Kori VanBastelaar (Robert), Breann Friesen (Rob), Jessica Nantais (Trevor), Jeremy and Jeff Nantais and great-grandma of Avelyn, Campbell, Case, Jade, Chloe, Sarah, Wesley and great-great grandson Nash. Dear sister of Clara McNaughton (Tim), Edith McNaughton (Mike), John Shepley (Diane), Winnifred Klingbile (Bev). Sadly missed by her fur baby Logan.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Kathleen, and brothers Edwin, Wilbert, and Raymond. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Friday April 19, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
