Obituary of Kauko Allan Maki
The family of Kauko Allan Maki is sad to announce his death on June 20, 2024 at the age of 73. He was born in Whitefish, Ontario and grew up in that area. He eventually made his way toChatham-Kent where he met his wife Lois Deyo and infant son Michael Deyo. After moving to their home in Dresden, Kauko became a true Dresdenite talking to many and greeting everyone he met.
On April 25, 2023, his wife of 29 years, Lois Louanne Deyo, died after a long illness. Not long after, Jasper, his loving and ever-present dog passed away. His declining health made things more difficult but he faced each day with an attitude of interest in life and others lives he met while driving around town in his van.
Kauko, born in Whitefish, Ontario is survived by his stepson Michael Deyo, sisters Kathy Johnson, Ann Lemster and Gertie Senuik and brother Paul Maki along with sister-in-law Donna Holling and brother-in-law Jim Deyo. Kauko is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Following Kauko’s wishes cremation has taken place and his family will be remembering him privately.
