Obituary of Jerome Joseph Ide
Ide: Jerome Joseph, formerly of Dresden, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the age of 93. Born in Thamesville, son of the late Aime and Adronie (Desmet) Ide. Beloved husband of the late Emmy (Blommaert) Ide. Jerome was a longtime executive member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #113, Dresden and was an active volunteer and supporter of the Dresden Legion Poppy Fund and the Terry Fox Run. He coached baseball in Dresden for many years and loved to play hockey, skate and dance. Loving father of Tracy Kress (Rick), Michelle Pellicciotta (Mitz). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Melissa (John Luc), Amanda (Chris), Brandon, Suzanne, Christine (Derek) and great-grandchildren Cassie, Gabby, Malcolm, Haley and Cali. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Dear brother-in-law of Tom Blommaert. Predeceased by his daughter Brenda Schaffer, sisters Simone Adkin (Lyle) and Yvonne Vandermeersch (Gerard), sister-in-law Nellie Hinks and brothers-in-law Richard, Henny and Willy Blommaert. The Ide family will receive family and friends at the Badder Funeral home & Reception Centre, 679 North St., Dresden on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 PM. A Private Family Interment in Dresden Cemetery. If desired, donations made to the Dresden Legion Poppy Fund (c/o 180 St George St N, Box 668 Dresden, ON N0P 1M0) would be appreciated by the family.
