Obituary of Shawn Daniel Hooyer

 Shawn Daniel Hooyer, a child of God, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 22,2024 at his home at the age of 38. Born in Chatham and a resident of Dresden. Beloved 2nd son of Wayne and Martha (VanRooyen) Hooyer. Loving and caring father of his wonderful sons Rowen, Seth and Ethan Hooyer. Also survived by the mother of his children, Janice (Vanderlinde) Hooyer. Dearly Loved Brother of Mathew Hooyer (Tanya) and their children Lily and Violet, Brian Hooyer (Brittany) and their children Jeremy, Noah, Kaleb, Zachary and Jordyn, Cassandra DeWeerd (Trevor) and their children Jayce, Wyatt, Kira and Jude. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Shawn was an amazingly gifted man who loved life and loved family and loved farming. He was and still is deeply loved. Visitation will be held at the Dresden CRC, 956 Mooney St., Dresden on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Betty Bouma officiating. Private family interment and private luncheon will follow the funeral. If desired, donations may be left to Wallaceburg Christian School or Charity of your choice.
