Van Der Paelt: Jeremy F. passed away suddenly as the result of an ATV accident on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the age of 21. Much loved son of Carol (Van Der Paelt) Wilson (Dan), Jeff Van Der Paelt (Carol). Jeremy will be forever missed by his best friend and sister Brittany Van Der Paelt and her fiance Brendan Allen and step sister Mckenzi and step brother Logan. Cherished grandson of Joseph and Martha Van Der Paelt, John and Shirley Bloom and Eileen Wilson. Sadly missed by Aunts and Uncles, Ron and Sarah Van Der Paelt (Zachary, Madeline, and Nicholas), Bob and Doreen Bloom (Bill and Kristen), Cathy and Mark Smith (Jennifer (Matt) and Ashley), Kim and Joe Neto, Kim Wilson, Sean and Lisa Wilson (Griff and Kam), Dawn Cooper (Will, Brook, Molly, and Ella). Jeremy graduated from the Good Shepherd School, Thamesville, the Pines Chatham, and Lambton College, Sarnia. He was employed as a power engineer at Shell Canada, Sarnia. Jeremy enjoyed coming home to the farm and spent much time fishing and hunting. He loved to travel and will be remembered for his kindness and his sense of humour. Jeremy you will be forever in our hearts. Family and friends will be received at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Jeremy's Life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Thamesville. You were the strongest person we knew. You were the centrefold of this family...the light that guided us when the world sometimes seemed far too dark. Jeremy will forever be missed in my heart. I first met Jeremy as I was starting my onboarding at Shell. A dear friend introduced us and once the jokes started flying it was genuine friendship. Easy and enjoyable. Jeremy made me smile even during the worst of times at work and he was one of the smartest individuals I knew. I trusted my life with him time and time again and cannot express how unfair this is. Another amazing thing about Jeremy is that it is not difficult to recollect upon a time of pure happiness when he was around. His smile and energetic humor is how I will always remember him by. I love you my friend and will continue to seek your guidance as this life goes on. God Bless you in your next life and to all those that remain in this one.

The loss of a loved one is never easy, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon. The recent loss of son, brother/best friend, and my childhood friend, who has left us at such a young age is definitely in the category of those hard losses for which there is such a painful reminder of what might have been.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Jeremy and I went to the same high school together and although I was not close with him, we shared a lot of classes together and I saw him almost every day. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to tell a joke to his classmates. He was always so friendly towards everyone. These small acts of kindness from him is what I will dearly miss.
