I was so sad to hear of Carol's passing. Although I had not seen Carol much since she took on her new role at Union Gas, I had worked with her indirectly for many, many years prior when she was selling transportation. Since Wayne was my main contact, Carol and I got to know each other on more through the events we attended including many hosted by Union Gas. We had a lot of fun; Carol had the best sense of humour. Especially loved the rock, paper, scissors method of making decisions her and Wayne cooked up. I can hear Carols voice and her laugh as I write this. So sorry to the entire family, and Union Gas family for your loss.
Sincerely,
Lisa DeAbreu

First met Carol when she was working at Lester’s on the Bay outside Rondeau
Met her again when she joined Union Gas and worked with my wife
Worked with her in our Gas Supply group, and then as she was renewing our Bus. Dev. efforts
She was the first to congratulate us when we shared the news we were having kids
Got to work for her on a project in the weeks leading up to her wedding - while sworn to secrecy that she was about to be married
She cheered me up with her plans to learn the accordion when I got in touch after she went on leave
Miss your Carol, lucky to have known you, just for far too short a time; Don

There are many things about Carol we fondly remember. Her unmistakeable laugh, her warm gestures for others (including animals!), and her unparalleled love of life. Carol was such an amazing, caring person. My son Jeremy Van Der Paelt spoke often of his visits and how she always made him feel so loved there, and my step-son Logan Wilson. Carol opened her heart and her home to all of us during a very difficult time when Jeremy passed away. She always greeted us with open arms and a smile on her face. Always positive throughout her own battle. Jeremy often said she was an angel that was brought to his Dad to make his life better. I thank her for being such a positive influence on both Jeremy and Brittany. We will all miss her very much. Our condolences to both the Van Der Paelt and Cameron families, God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. I am the daughter of Morley F. Cameron. Grandparents were Peter and Jane Cameron from Thamesville. Carol and I had our picture taken together at Wendy's back in 2007 while Dad and I were out celebrating my Uncle Harold's 90th birthday in Chatham. I felt a special kinship to Carol Cameron as we had the same name. I remember her telling me about her job at the gas company. Sandra Ferren told me that Carol had passed from Cancer. I am so sorry for your loss. You have precious memories of Carol that will forever be in your heart.

Carol brought so much light to the Van Der Paelt family. Her smile and inviting nature always brought an incredible warmth to the Van Der Paelt home. Every time I came to visit, my family home was filled with laughter, jokes and silly antics that made everyone's day a whole light brighter. I am so blessed to have met Carol, shared Christmas and birthdays and to have began planning my wedding with her. From birthday celebrations in Stratford where I got to see one of her favourite musicals, 'The Sound of Music' to attempting to organize Christmas present ideas for my Dad, she has always been such a positive and fun person to be around.
My late brother, Jeremy Van Der Paelt never had enough good things to say about Carol. He loved their 'power chats' about work, politics and the news. He loved how she would always open up their home to his friends and make them late night snacks. Carol was a great mentor to Jeremy and I know they will be together in heaven--always looking out for one another.
Carol made my Dad incredibly happy. She made us all incredibly happy with just a single 'Hello.' I have never met such a positive person with a fantastic outlook on life. She fought her battle with grace and outmost strength. Carol had a great influence on my life. She will be greatly missed by both myself and my Fiance, Brendan. Rest easy, Carol. We love you, dearly.
Forever in our hearts,
Brittany Van Der Paelt
