D'Hondt: Joseph Karl, a resident of R.R. #3 Bothwell passed away peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice at the age of 87. Born in Belgium, son of the late Francis and Geraldine (Hendriks) D'Hondt. Beloved husband for 61 wonderful years to Irene (Koppes) D'Hondt. Joe enjoyed a life long passion of farming, dancing and playing soccer with his grandchildren. Loving father of Wayne D'Hondt (Ann) of Muirkirk, Diane Frederick (Scott) of Florida, Linda Knight (Paul) of Forest, Jeff D'Hondt (Jacqueline) of Bothwell and Kevin D'Hondt (Brigitte) of Earlton. Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Dear brother of Hubert D'Hondt, Mary Steen (Andy), Jean Casier and Godlieve Bangma. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. The D'Hondt family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Following visitation a private family service will be held.
