Ray and I were colleagues at St. Elizabeth for many many years. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand or share a proud story about his family. The students of St. Elizabeth absolutely adored Mr. Burgess. They have shared many stories regarding his sense of humour. In the past few days they have shared so many humorous stories. He enjoyed playing tag with the students during indoor recess. He was the best volleyball player during our staff vs.student volleyball game. He loved joking with the students when they were tidying up at lunch time. A few times he joked about throwing students in the garbage can. This made the students giggle again and again. Our school is forever changed. The staff and students of St. Elizabeth will always remember and miss Mr. Burgess.

R.I.P. Uncle Ray, I'll miss you so much.
Of all the many blessings. However great or small, to have had you for an uncle was the greatest one of all. The family chain is broken now and nothing seems the same, but as God takes us one by one the chain will link again.
A heart of gold stopped beating. Two shining eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best. God knows you had to leave us, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day he took you home. To some you are forgotten, to others just part of the past, but to us who loved and lost you, the memory will always last.
A beautiful memory, clearer then gold of a uncle whose worth can never be told. There's a place in my heart no one can fill. I miss you, Uncle Ray, and always will.
His life earnest, his actions kind. A willing hand and active mind. Anxious to please, loath to offend. A loving Uncle and faithful friend.
The sun still rises in the east and darkness falls at night but nothing now seems quite the same each day is not as bright. The birds still sing, the flowers grow, the breeze still whispers, too but it will never, ever be the same world without you. It's so sad that you had to go your leaving caused such pain but you were so very special and earth's loss is heaven's gain.
I love you uncle Ray, till we meet again. R.I.P. and say hi to Uncle John. I'm sure he is happy to see you. I bet when he seen you walk through those pearly gates, his face lit up with one of his big bright contagious smiles. Ready to greet you and shake your hand.
Forever loved, forever missed, but never forgotten. Gone too soon.
