Obituary of Wilfred Ernest Shepherd

Shepherd: Wilfred Ernest, surrounded by his family, Wilfred, or known to so many as Shep, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the age of 91. He served his community with hard work, love and pride for over 60 years. During that time he served as a councillor, a volunteer firefighter, served on the hydro board, assisted with the construction of our arena, and was a life member of the Bothwell Legion Br. 252. Shep helped hook up homes when our water system in Bothwell was developed. He will be deeply missed by his children Stephon (Marie) Shepherd, and Starlene (Rob) VanMiddelkoop. Cherished by his grandchildren Sheena VanMiddelkoop, Travis (Leah) VanMiddelkoop, Natasha (Dylan) Rosenthal, Jericka Shepherd, and by his great-grandchildren Grant and Clark VanMiddelkoop. Predeceased by his loving wife Maud of 64 years (March 27, 2015). Wilfred will be forever loved and held dear in our hearts. The Shepherd family will receive friends at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the Chapel on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Bothwell Cemetery.
