Obituary of Rene James Van Acker

 Van Acker; Rene James a resident of Clachan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Four Counties Health Services at the age of 70. Born in Chatham, son of the late Louis and Donna Van Acker (Tunks) and son-in-law of the late John and June Purcell. beloved husband of 48 years to Peggy Van Acker (Purcell). Loving father to Chantelle Van Acker (Kevin), and the late Shannon Van Acker (Danielle). Cherished grandfather to Jamee Ellis, Stacy Van Acker, Cody Van Acker, and Mackenzee Ellis. Brother-in-law to JoAnne, Debbie, Wendy (Paul), Patti (Mike), Penny (Derek), Greg, and brother to Rick (Lillian), Rod (Marilyn), Robin, Lorrie, Luanne (Scott). Forever missed by numerous nieces, nephews, his beloved golden retriever, Molly, and by his Hot Rod Family. Rene has rejoined with his son, Shannon. At Rene's request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home, 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.
