Obituary of Bob Fennell
Robert "Bob" George Fennell, formerly of Newbury, passed away peacefully in Almonte on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the age of 93. Born in Newbury, the son of the Harold and Ethel (George) Fennell. Beloved husband of the late Eunice (Dobbyn). Loving father of Penny Fennell of Almonte, Margaret Struthers (Michel) of Ottawa, Barbara Fennell of London, and Jane Eybergen (David) of Kincardine. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Elise, Sara, Louise (Mark), Rudy (Sarah), Jason (Euan), Emily, Madelyn, Zackery, and great-granddaughter Emerson. Also survived by brother-in-law Bob Davis and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Bill Fennell (Anne) and sisters Margery Davis, and Beth White (Ed).
Bob was a man of action. He was a hard-working businessman, loving family man, avid hunter, enthusiastic barbershop singer, and dedicated community member in Newbury. His routine started with a good early-morning breakfast, followed by working or playing outdoors, and always ended at home with Eunice. He truly lived out the motto “work hard and play hard”. He has left in us a legacy of a strong work ethic, the love of nature, and a fun-loving attitude. He will be remembered with a twinkle in his eye.
The Fennell family will receive friends and family at the Badder & Robinson Funeral Home 211 Elm St., Bothwell on Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Oakland Cemetery followed by a luncheon. If desired, donations may be made to Duck’s Unlimited Canada or St. Andrew's (Cairo) United Church. Online donations and condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.
