Obituary of Edward George Chapman
Edward George Chapman, a resident of Dresden, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Fairfield Park Nursing Home, Wallaceburg at the age of 83. Born in Inwood, the son of the late Wilfred and Pearl (McLean) Chapman. Loving husband of 63 years to Anne (Cajka) Chapman. Dear brother of Mildred Clifford (the late Les). Proud papa to Clair Robinson, Seth Robinson, Spencer Paddick-Dibbley and Reide Paddick-Dibbley. Missed by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by sisters Marjorie Morrison (Glen) and Shirley Lennan (Ron) and brother-in-law Joe Cajka. Ed worked for Brooke Telecom for many years and retired as a manager. He was an avid Red Wings Fan. He was very involved with the Dresden Jr. Kings and coached Minor Hockey for many years. Ed was known as Mr. Hockey for a year. Ed was also a member of the Dresden Legion and volunteered a lot of his time to Dresden Terry Fox. The Chapman family will receive family and friends at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre 679 North St, Dresden on Sunday from 1:00-3:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made by cheque to Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent or Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff of Fairfield Park for the excellent care that was given to Ed, it was truly appreciated.
